Dean Jones heaps praise on MS Dhoni

Former Australian cricketer and coach Dean Jones has heaped praises on MSD. He stated Dhoni is teaching some discipline through his game to the young guys in CSK. Jones mentioned Dhoni’s conservative tactics and his efficient team selection. He said MSD will always be in his top five Indian players of all time.

“MS Dhoni is captain cool. He doesn’t sweat but he hasn’t played cricket for 14 months. He has had a camp back in Chennai. He is teaching some of the young guys back in quarantine some discipline because there is a lot of discipline in his game.”Jones said on Star Sports’ chat show Cricket Connected.

And as a captain, he is quite conservative in his tactics. But he waits for you to make a mistake and then the cobra goes for the squeeze. People will always remember what he has done. He will be in my top five Indian players of all time,” he added.

Brett Lee on MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma as captains:

Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma has the edge over MS Dhoni with 4 IPL titles and former Australian pacer Brett Lee believes they both are tremendous but different captains. He said one is the reserve and not too offensive while the other shows full aggression in the field settings, but they both get their job done.

“What I will say is that someone like a Rohit Sharma has got good stats. I am just going to say that they are both tremendous captains but different captains.

“So you got one captain that is super laid back while the other captain is aggressive in the way he sets the field. But they both get the job done,” Brett Lee said.

CSK have won the IPL title three times and MSD will be looking to add one more piece of silverware to his huge collection. MS Dhoni will be back in action in September leading CSK in the 13th edition of the IPL. The tournament starts on the 19th of September and the final will be played on November 10.
