IPL 2020: Big Boost For Chennai Super Kings As Star Finally Joins Team For Training

The Chennai Super Kings team and fans have good news as the star player has finally joined with the squad in training. A shaky start for the CSK team after the last team began their training post their extended quarantine after 13 squad members including two players tested positive for COVID-19. Their worries grew as veteran players Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh pulled out the campaign this season, citing personal reasons.
The team began their training on September 4 after all the members of the squad didn’t test positive for the coronavirus. They received another good news yesterday after pacer Deepak Chahar got the green light from the medical team to join his squad. Chahar had tested positive for Covid-19 and was in extra quarantine.

Deepak Chahar has finally joined with his squad after he was tested positive for Covid-19. The IPL’s protocols state that those testing positive would need to undergo two-week quarantine followed by two further tests. Once the results for those two tests are negative, the person can rejoin their respective squad. CSK took to their official twitter handle to announce Chahar was back with the squad. They posted a picture of the speedster showing thumbs up from the training ground captioning it as: “Deeback Chahar”

Deepak Chahar to undergo fitness tests before starting training: CSK CEO Kasi Vishwanathan confirms
CSK CEO Kasi Vishwanathan has told that Chahar has to undergo further fitness tests, including a cardio test, which is mandatory according to the protocols put by the BCCI’s medical team before he starts training. The other player who tested positive was Ruturaj Gaikwad, and he is still in quarantine. With 8 days still left to the IPL’s opening match, Chahar would now be able to start against Mumbai Indians. Last time these both sides met was the final of IPL 2019, which MI won by 1 run.
IPL 2020 will be played between September 19 and November 10. The matches will be played in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah respectively.
