Former Indian batsman Sunil Gavaskar believes Delhi Capitals have a very good chance to have their maiden IPL win this season. DC is one of the three teams to have never won the IPL. Moreover, they have never even made it to the finals.
They have quite some squad depth this season to go for the extra mile with new additions like Ajinkya Rahane, Ravichandran Ashwin, Marcus Stoinis, who have bolstered their lineup as an all-rounder.
The Delhi Capitals squad have been training for the last two weeks in UAE and are all set to challenge for the title in IPL 2020.

The 1983 World Cup winning batsman is back in the commentary panel in the IPL 2020. He says DC have a very good chance to finally get their hands on the IPL trophy. He said the signings made by Delhi Capitals have been really good and if their batting clicks they surely have a chance of winning the tournament.
“There is a very good chance for Delhi Capitals to win IPL 2020. They have selected very good players and if their batting clicks then they can surely win this time. They have also selected their overseas players really well and so I feel they have got a great chance this time. This will be their first IPL title if they win and they have got a great chance,” Sunil Gavaskar told Sports Tak.
Sunil Gavaskar feels DC have the potential to score big runs
Gavaskar feels the batting depth of DC has a lot of hard hitters and if their batsmen click, they can put big runs on the board. The former Indian batsman has opined that Prithvi Shaw should open, skipper Shreyas Iyer should go one down and Rishabh Pant at two down will be the perfect lineup for them.
“The kind of batting ability that they have, even if two of their batsmen click, then they have the ability to post big totals. Prithvi Shaw can open the batting and give a good start. Shreyas Iyer can come in at number three and play big shots.
“Rishabh Pant can bat at No.4 and also can play as a finisher and give more runs to the team. Therefore I believe that there is a potential for them to score loads of runs.” said Sunil Gavaskar.
DC will play their opening match against KXIP on 20th September in Dubai. The IPL 2020 will be played between September 19 and November 10. The venue this time is UAE and matches will be played in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah respectively.
