IPL 2020: Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Capitals: DC Predicted XI

The Delhi Capitals are having their best start to an IPL campaign with four wins in their first five matches. The DC side have a great blend of experience and youth in their team this season, which is giving them the result on pitch. The youngest captain in IPL, 25 year old Shreyas Iyer is leading his side appreciably. DC have faced a major blow with veteran spinner Amit Mishra being ruled out of the tournament due to a finger fracture.

37-year-old Mishra with 160 wickets, is the second-highest wicket-taker in the IPL and highest among spin bowlers in the history of the IPL. He was performing well for the Capitals this term, bagging three wickets in three matches with an economy of 7.34. DC are set to face RR in their next clash on October 9 at the Sharjah cricket stadium.

Delhi Capitals Predicted XI

1. Prithvi Shaw

20 year old Batsman, Shaw has been in a scintillating form for DC, having scored two half centuries this season. He has 179 runs to his name in the 5 matches played in IPL 2020 and has cemented his place at the opening spot for DC.

2. Shikhar Dhawan

The veteran Indian batsman has had a slow start to the new campaign and hasn’t been able to score a big knock yet. However, he will retain his place in the team for now. He gave the team a good start with his 32 runs off 28 balls against RCB.

3. Shreyas Iyer

The skipper has been in the best of form and has scored 181 runs for the team in the five matches. He has been showing great leadership and has been lauded for using smart tactics round the pitch. Iyer has been handling the pressure situations extremely well, coming at one down to bat for the team and is a constant threat to the opposition.

4. Rishabh Pant

Pant has lately again found his form with the bat and has consistently quick fired some runs coming at the two down spot for DC. Rishabh Pant has a total 171 runs to his name in the IPL 2020, having played five matches yet. His form will be very important for Delhi, throughout the tournament.

5. Marcus Stoinis

The Australian all-rounder has been a key player in DC’s success this season with both bat and ball. He has scored two half centuries yet, has 123 runs to his name and has also bagged three wickets, in this campaign. He will surely be a part of the team in their clash against Rajasthan Royals.

6. Shimron Hetmyer

The West Indies, southpaw batsman is yet to show his class in the IPL 2020. He has scored 46 runs in three innings for the Delhi Capitals yet and will look to show some big shot against RR at Sharjah.

7. Ravichandran Ashwin

The veteran Indian spinner who was brought from KXIP this term has played three matches and bagged three wickets for DC. His carrom-ball still remains a lethal weapon in the hands of DC and he will be be starting against RR.

8. Kagiso Rabada

Rabada has been in an excellent form for DC, bagging 12 wickets in 5 games. He is the current holder of the purple cap. He had a marvellous four-wicket haul against RCB in their last match, giving away only 24 runs in four overs. Rabada has proved to be undroppable in the DC lineup.

9. Anrich Nortje

South African pacer Nortje was brought in as a replacement of injured Chris Woakes in the team. He is having a good debut season in the IPL having taken seven wickets in five matches bowling at an economy of 7.45. He will also secure his place in the starting lineup against RR.

10. Harshal Patel

Patel proved to be very expensive for DC against RR giving away 46 runs, but his excellent display against KKR, where he bagged two wickets will force the Delhi side to give him another chance. He will retain his place in the starting lineup in the team against RR.

11. Axar Patel

An injury to veteran spinner Amit Mishra, has opened gates for Axar Patel to cement his place in the Delhi lineup. In the four matches played in IPL 2020, he has four wickets to his name.
