IPL 2020, Final: Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Capitals (MI vs DC) – Highlights
Mumbai Indians (MI) innings
The Mumbai Indians openers, skipper Rohit Sharma and wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock provided a firing start as they put 45 runs partnership for the opening wicket before Marcus Stoinis dismissed De Kock for 20 runs (12 balls; 3 fours and only six) in the 5th over of that innings.
After that blow, Rohit and the next batsman Suryakumar Yadav maintained that momentum. They set up another 45 runs partnership for the second wicket but a misunderstanding in the 11th over costed their partnership as Suryakumar gifted his wicket to save his captain. Before that run-out dismissal, Suryakumar scored 19 runs off 20 balls (only four and only six).
In the next over of that run-out, Rohit completed his fifty in 36 balls. Rohit and Ishan Kishan then produced another 47 runs partnership for the third wicket.

After scoring 68 off 51 balls, skipper Rohit was dismissed in the 17th over as substitute Lalit Yadav grabbed a sensational catch at deep mid-wicket. In the next over, Kagiso Rabada bowled Kieron Pollard for nine runs. But it was too late for the first time IPL finalists.
Anrich Nortje took one more wicket as he dismissed Hardik Pandya (3) when the scoreline was tied. But on the very next ball, Mumbai Indians secured the record fifth IPL title with a single. Ishan Kishan remained not out on 33 runs off 19 balls (3 fours and only six).
Scorecard:
Delhi Capitals (DC) innings
On the very first delivery of the match, Trent Boult dismissed the opener Marcus Stoinis for a golden duck. In his next over, Boult dismissed Ajinkya Rahane for just 2 runs. Off-spinner Jayant Yadav came to bowl in the fourth over and he bowled the other opener Shikhar Dhawan for 15 runs as Delhi Capitals were struggling on 22/3.
Captain Shreyas Iyer and wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant then handled the situation with a strong fourth-wicket partnership that brought them back into the game. Their batting helped the first-time IPL finalists to cross the 100-run mark comfortably.

They built up the brilliant 96 runs partnership for the fourth wicket, where Pant completed his fifty in 35 balls. Nathan Coulter-Nile finally broke that partnership in the 15th over as the Aussie pacer dismissed Pant for 56 runs off 38 balls (4 fours and 2 sixes).
Since then, skipper Iyer fought hard to grow up that first innings total but he didn’t get enough support from the other end. Iyer reached the fifty-run mark in 40 balls. At the end of that innings, he remained not out on 65 runs off 50 balls (6 fours and 2 sixes).
Mumbai Indians bowlers were disciplined in the early powerplay and the death overs. While Trent Boult had the bowling figures of 4-0-30-3, Nathan Coulter-Nile managed the bowling figures of 4-0-29-2.
