In the sixth edition of the popular franchise-based league of India saw a leg-spinner entering the game at the age of 41. The time when players usually announce their retirement from the game, Pravin Tambe made debut for Rajasthan Royals.
Although he played just three matches in his debut season, he was the leading wicket-taker in the Champions League T20 later the very same year.
Meanwhile, in the next season of the league, Tambe became a force to be reckoned with and picked 15 wickets in 13 matches. He stayed with RR till the ninth edition of the league and was taken in by Gujarat Lions for 2016 IPL.
The last he got featured in the IPL was in 2016 where he played seven matches for Gujarat and plucked five wickets. During that time he was 44 years, 219 days old.
However, this year Tambe was roped in by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) during the IPL 2020 auction. The 48-years-old cricketer will, however, he will not be able to feature for the 13th edition of the game.
