Eoin Morgan’s homecoming in the Indian Premier League has been plagued due to the coronavirus outbreak. However, England’s World Cup-winning skipper is excited to be a part of Kolkata Knight Riders again. Morgan was roped in by the two-time champions for INR 5.25 Crores.

Dinesh Karthik is a fantastic guy: Eoin Morgan
In a chat with Kolkata Knight Riders’ official website, Morgan expressed his willingness of learning from skipper Dinesh Karthik and help the franchise in every possible capacity. “I’ve spoken to DK a lot and I met up with him just before Christmas when I was out in Mumbai. He’s a fantastic guy, a great cricketer and I’m looking forward to helping him in whatever way I can. While I’m here to help, I also want to learn as much as I can from him.” Morgan stated.

Apart from leading KKR, Karthik is the captain of Tamil Nadu in the domestic circuit. The Kolkata-based franchise has let go of Robin Uthappa, Chris Lynn, and Piyush Chawla. On the other hand, they shelved a whopping INR 15.5 Crores to get Pat Cummins.
Morgan is a clean hitter of the ball and has a proven record in franchise cricket. He was a part of the KKR unit in the 2012 victorious campaign. The southpaw said he would be looking to pick Karthik’s brain as leading a side in India is a whole different challenge.

“There are a lot of dynamics about being a captain when you’re playing in India that I don’t know about, I’ll be picking his brain the whole time. I’ll naturally be myself and try to give as much as I can just like the rest of the international players. But it’s going to be fascinating to see how and when we get to play and how the competition lines up. Because everybody is going to come out of isolation extremely excited, rearing to go, batting, bowling, fielding the whole lot.” Morgan added.
