After registering an emphatic win against Rajashthan Royals, SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) will take on Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on Saturday (October 24) at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai in the 43rd match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020.
SunRisers Hyderabad is standing at the fifth position, just one number above KXIP, in the points table. It’s a crucial game for both teams to keep their chances alive to qualify for playoffs.
Here, let’s take a look at SunRisers Hyderabad predicted playing XI for the important fixture
Jonny Bairstow (wk):
Jonny Bairstow had lost his wicket for ten runs in the last match, but it didn’t hurt the team because of Manish Pandey’s magical batting. But the wicketkeeper-batsman will want to redeem against Kings XI Punjab because it is a must-win match for them.
David Warner:
Jofra Archer also trapped David Warner in the last match. He was out after scoring just four runs leaving the team under pressure. To beat KXIP, he will have to play a big knock and fully utilise the powerplay.
Overall, he has scored 335 runs in ten matches at the strike rate of 124.07 which is not good for a player who has calibre like him.
Manish Pandey:
After Bairstow and Warner left the boat of SRH sinking, Manish Pandey, batting at number three, playing a match-winning knock. He went berserk from the very first ball and scored 83 off 47 balls, striking eight maximums and four fours. If he delivers a similar performance against DC, SRH can comfortably win the match.
Priyam Garg:
Priyam Garg didn’t get the chance to bat against RR. He will look to capitalize on the opportunity if he gets a chance against KXIP.
The youngster has also already shown his mettle against CSK after taking the game home for SRH.
Vijay Shankar:
Vijay Shankar played a responsible knock while stitched a match-winning partnership with Manish Pandey against RR to seal the deal for SunRisers Hyderabad. Although he had struggled at the start, he went all gun blazing against Jofran Archer.
Apart from batting, he picked the crucial wicket of Jos Buttler to chock the RR batting order. His impressive spell had overshadowed his fielding mistake when he dropped the catch of Ben Stokes.
SRH will want him to be again come out as the match-winner for them.
Abdul Samad:
The power-hitter, Abdul Samad, has played a short but impactful inning for SunRisers Hyderabad. He has taken on bowlers in death overs and accelerated innings. Moreover, he is also an asset in fielding.
Jason Holder:
Jason Holder played the first match for SRH against Rajasthan Royals and guided the team to victory. RR was looking in a good position, and 170 runs target was being estimated. But Holder dismantled RR’s middle-order and restricted them to 154 runs. He is likely to play against KXIP.
Rashid Khan:
Rashid Khan is the game-changer for SunRisers Hyderabad. Against RR, he picked the wicket of struggling Ben Stokes while bowled economical overs to suffocate the batsmen. He will be the difference-maker for them against KXIP.
Shabaz Nadeem:
Shabaz Nadeem, the left-arm spinner, played only the second match against RR. But he delivered only six balls while leaked nine runs. He is likely to play coming matches for SunRisers Hyderabad.
Sandeep Sharma:
Sandeep Sharma went wicketless against RR while also was expensive. The speedster will have to bounce back stronger against KXIP to promote SunRisers Hyderabad above in the points table.
T Natrajan:
T Natarajan also had a bad day against RR. In his four overs, he conceded 46 runs while also could not pick a wicket. As Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been ruled out, he is spearheading the pace attack. If he didn’t get wickets against KXIP, SunRisers Hyderabad’s dream might become impossible. Thus, the speedster will look to bounce back stronger.
