On Saturday (10th October), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) beat Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 37 runs at Dubai International Cricket Stadium (Dubai).

After winning the toss, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli decided to bat first. At the end of the first innings, RCB scored 169/4 (20 overs). In reply, CSK only managed to score 132/8 (20 overs).

  • It is the highest individual score by a captain against Chennai Super Kings. The previous record was 84 by SunRisers Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson at Hyderabad (Deccan) on 22nd April 2018. 
  • It is the highest individual score for an RCB batsman against CSK. The previous record was 75* by Chris Gayle at Bengaluru on 22nd May 2011.

ii) Virat Kohli has scored 6059 T20 runs for Royal Challengers Bangalore.

  • Virat Kohli became the first batsman to score 6000 T20 runs for a team.

 

Chris Morris – best bowling figures by an overseas bowler

i) South African pacer Chris Morris had the bowling figures of 4-0-19-3.

  • It is the best bowling figures by an overseas RCB bowler against CSK. Their previous record was 4-0-21-3 by Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan at Chennai on 12th April 2012.

i) Ambati Rayudu has scored 1035 runs for Chennai Super Kings.

  • Ambati Rayudu became the 12th batsman to score 1000 T20 runs for CSK.

  • MS Dhoni becomes the most catch taker as a wicket-keeper in IPL history. Dinesh Karthik is in the next position in this list with 104 IPL catches as a wicket-keeper.

ii) MS Dhoni has taken 92 IPL catches for CSK (including both as a wicket-keeper and non-wicket-keeper).

  • MS Dhoni is leading the list of most IPL catches for CSK in overall. Suresh Raina is now in the next position with 91 IPL catches for CSK. 

iii) MS Dhoni has hit 300 sixes in T20 career.

  • MS Dhoni became the third Indian batsman to hit 300 T20 sixes. Rohit Sharma (375 T20 sixes) and Suresh Raina (311 T20 sixes) were the first two Indians to hit 300 sixes in T20 career.
