Former Australian spinner Brad Hogg has stated that KKR pacer Pat Cummins will be hard for RR skipper Steve Smith to face. Cummins had a hard start to his IPL 2020 campaign after he gave away 49 runs in three overs in KKR’s IPL opener against MI. He was heavily criticised for his performance, and for the sum, KKR paid for him. The Knight Riders secured Pat Cummins’ signing for a whopping INR 15.5 crores.
Cummins showed a great display against SRH in their second match with impressive figures of 19/1. He kept the opening partnership of David Warner and Jonny Bairstow slowed down and took the important wicket of Bairstow. His Australian teammate Steve Smith is also in hot red form scoring two important knocks in the opening two matches and cruising his team to victory.
Pat Cummins will win the match for KKR against RR: Brad Hogg
Hogg has stated that Pat Cummins has again found his flow in the second game, and the first game’s poor show was because he had just come out of isolation. He feels Cummins will test Smith with short balls and will win the game for KKR.
“KKR have won one and lost one. But the game that they lost, Pat Cummins had just come out of isolation, he did not have enough work under his belt. He was a little short and a little slow.
“But that second game, he found his pace and thus it is Pat Cummins against Steve Smith. I feel Pat Cummins will have too much pace, he will test Smith with the short ball and be successful and win the game for KKR,” Brad Hogg said on his YouTube channel.
Brad Hogg feels Rajasthan Royals will come into the game with confidence after having a great start to IPL 2020
RR are unbeaten yet and have been stupendous with their batting, winning both the matches scoring and chasing 200 plus successfully runs on the board. Sanju Samson and skipper Steve Smith have scored big knocks in both the matches and look in quite some form. Hogg believes the RR players will come into their game against KKR with confidence after a good start to IPL 2020.
“The Rajasthan Royals have got their tournament off to a great start. Two good wins straightaway. The good thing about them is that they chased down a huge total as well as defended a total. So batsmen and bowlers will go into this game quietly confident,” Brad Hogg said.
Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders lock horns tonight at the Dubai International stadium. RR are on the top of the IPL table winning both their games while KKR are second last with one win and one loss to their name.
