ToggleIn the Qualifier 1 of the IPL 2020, the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) comfortably beat Delhi Capitals (DC) by 57 runs at Dubai International Cricket Stadium (Dubai) and advanced to the final of this tournament.
Delhi Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer decided to bowl first after winning the toss. Mumbai Indians scored 200/5 at the end of the first 20 overs. Chasing down that big target, Delhi Capitals managed to score only 143/8 (20 overs).

Delhi Capitals (DC) innings
Delhi Capitals got a horrific start as they lost their first three batsmen without opening the team’s scoreboard. While Trent Boult dismissed opener Prithvi Shaw and Ajinkya Rahane in the first over, Jasprit Bumrah bowled another opener Shikhar Dhawan in the second over.
In the fourth over of that innings, Bumrah took his second wicket after dismissing skipper Shreyas Iyer, who managed to score only 12 runs. At the end of the powerplay, DC were struggling on 32/4. After the powerplay, Rishabh Pant was dismissed in the eighth over after scoring only three runs.
Marcus Stoinis and Axar Patel then tried hard to fight back as they set up the 71 runs partnership for the sixth wicket. Stonis completed his fifty in 36 balls. Before losing his wicket in 16th over, Stoinis scored 65 off 46 balls (6 fours and 3 sixes). While Bumrah brought that breakthrough, he took another wicket in that same over by dismissing Daniel Sams for a duck.
In the final over, Axar Patel was dismissed after scoring 42 runs off 33 balls (2 fours and 3 sixes).
Mumbai Indians pacer Jasprit Bumrah finished the match with the brilliant bowling figures of 4-1-14-4. Meanwhile, before getting groin injury, Trent Boult provided a good start and had the bowling figures of 2-1-9-2.

In the second over of the match, Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed captain Rohit Sharma for a golden duck. But another opener Quinton de Kock and Suryakumar Yadav handled the early situation very well and set up the 62 runs partnership for the second wicket.
In the eighth over, Ashwin brought another breakthrough by dismissing De Kock for 40 runs off 25 balls (5 fours and only six). Then, Suryakumar Yadav completed 50 runs in 36 balls but Anrich Nortje dismissed him for 51 runs off 38 balls (6 fours and 2 sixes). Ashwin then took the wicket of Kieron Pollard, who failed to open his account.
But then Ishan Kishan controlled the innings with his incredible batting performance. After the 39 runs partnership with Ishan for the fifth wicket, Krunal Pandya (13) lost his wicket in the 17th over. Then Ishan and Hardik Pandya performed firing batting in the late moment that set up the big first innings total.
On the final ball of that innings, Ishan completed his fifty with a sixer and remained not out on 55 off 30 balls (4 fours and 3 sixes). Meanwhile, Hardik scored 37 not out off 14 balls with the help of 5 sixes.

Among the Delhi Capitals bowlers, Ravichandran Ashwin finished with the bowling figures of 4-0-29-3 and Anrich Nortje (1/50) and Marcus Stoinis (1/5) picked up one wicket each.
