ToggleThe United Arab Emirates (UAE) is completely hosting the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020), which has been scheduled between 19th September and 10th November 2020. From the beginning of this tournament, many bowlers are eyeing to win the reputed Purple Cap at the end of this season.
Purple Cap is one of the reputed player awards in the IPL history, which we have seen from the inaugural edition (2008) of this tournament. At the end of each IPL season, the most wicket-taker wins the Purple Cap of the season.
In every season, just like the Orange Cap, Purple Cap also moves from one head to another head due to the continuous changes of the leading wicket-taker in the season. In every IPL season, this process starts after all the participating teams begin their journey in the season.
All the eight teams, who participated in the previous two IPL seasons, are featuring in the IPL 2020. These eight teams for the IPL 2020 are defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Delhi Capitals (DC), SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
