Kings XI Punjab’s young star spinner Ravi Bishnoi has had an amazing start to his IPL career and now is aiming to get Rajasthan Royals’ skipper Steve Smith’s wicket. Having played the opening two matches for the KXIP in the ongoing IPL 2020, Bishnoi already has 4 wickets to his name. The 20-year-old bagged 3 wickets in KXIP’s massive 97-run win over RCB. He took the wickets of Aaron Finch, Washington Sundar and Umesh Yadav in that game.

KXIP batted first after RCB chose bowling on winning the toss at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. KL Rahul scored a massive knock of unbeaten 132 runs off 69 balls including 14 fours and 7 sixes. The RCB team had a quick breakdown against the Punjab bowlers, going all out for just 109 runs in the 17th over.

Ravi Bishnoi has his eyes set on taking Steve Smith’s wicket

The 20-year-old Ravi Bishnoi, who is playing his debut season in the Indian Premier League, has shined for KXIP where he has cemented his place in their lineup.

“Steve Smith because he plays well against spin and he is also number 1 Test batsman,” Bishnoi told Mayank Agarwal, in a video shared on IPL’s official website.

The prodigy said that he feels very good playing in the IPL. He is living his dream that he tells he used to watch on TV and playing in this tournament is every player’s dream.

 “I am feeling very good as it is a very big stage for a youngster like me. I used to watch it on the TV and playing in it is every player’s dream.” he added.

KXIP’s massive victory against RCB

The pace attack of KXIP led by Mohammed Shami and Sheldon Cottrell gave them a good start dismissing a couple of wickets quickly. Virat Kohli was also sent to the pavilion for just 1 run by Cottrell. Ravi Bishnoi and Murugan Ashwin highly impressed with the ball and got three wickets each. Shami and Maxwell both had one wicket to their name.

KXIP have now played two matches in IPL 2020 and won and lost one each. They are set to play Rajasthan Royals in their next match on this Sunday (27th September) at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
