IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is all set to make some big changes prior to the start of next season. While nothing has been confirmed for now, multiple reports have suggested that the franchise might change its name from Royal Challengers Bangalore to Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

The city was earlier known as Bangalore before its name was changed to Bengaluru in 2014. Of course, the fans wanted to franchise to change its name as well and looks like the owners might finally respond to the fans by changing franchise’s name.

Apart from a new name, RCB might also have a new jersey this season. They have modified their jersey over the years but one can expect drastic changes in RCB’s jersey in comparison to the older one.
The franchise will also have a new look website. RCB’s official website is currently under maintenance and they will make all big announcements tomorrow (February 14).

Royal Challengers Bangalore is one of the teams which has been part IPl right since the inception of the league. Although the Bangalore-based franchise is yet to win an IPL trophy so far. They have played IPL final twice – in 2009 and 2016. On both the occasions, Hyderabad-based franchise defeated RCB.

Going into IPL 2020, the franchise has made several changes in its backroom staff. The previous coaching staff headed by Gary Kirsten was replaced by Mike Hesson- staff. Simon Katich was named as the head coach of the franchise.
Former India trainer Shankar Basu and Australia’s assistance coach Sridharan Sriram are also part of the backroom staff. Adam Griffith replaced Ashish Nehra as the bowling coach.
Despite poor results, Virat Kohli remains to be the captain of the franchise. At the auction, RCB bought Aaron Finch, Chris Morris, Josh Philippe, Kane Richardson, Pavan Deshpande, Dale Steyn, Isuru Udana and Shahbaz Ahmed.
