Shane Warne, who led Rajasthan Royals (RR) to their first IPL title, is surprised to not see Sanju Samson playing across formats for India. His remark came after the Indian cricketer played a fantastic knock of 74 runs off 32 balls to help Royals post 217 runs target against CSK.
The wicketkeeper-batsman had struck nine maximums and one boundary to dismantle CSK’s bowlers Piyush Chawla, Ravindra Jadeja’s attack. His powerful innings helped the team to seal their first win of the IPL 2020.
In an Instagram live session done by the Rajasthan Royals, Shane Warne lauded Sanju Samson’s batting. He said that Samson was one of the exciting players he had ever seen. The former Australian cricketer even went on to add that he was amazed that the youngsters has not been selected to play all the international formats.
“Sanju Samson, what a player he is. I have said for a long time and I think Sanju Samson is probably one of the most exciting players I have seen for a long time. I am surprised that he is not playing all forms of cricket for India,” said Warne.

Shane Warne spoke highly about Samson and said that he was a champion. He hopes that the wicketkeeper’s match-winning performances will help Rajasthan Royals to lift the trophy this season. Warne also wishes to see the Indian cricketer playing for his national team across all the formats.
“He is that good. He is an absolute champion he is got all the shots, quality, and class. So, hopefully, he has a consistent year and helps Rajasthan Royals lift the IPL trophy and I hope to see in him Indian colours in all three forms of cricket,” Shane Warne added.
Sanju Samson will play his next match for Rajasthan Royals against Kings XI Punjab on Saturday.
