Shubman Gill on expectations:

Gill, who is known for his optimistic approach is aiming to play a massive role for his team. The right-handed batsman Gill is keen to score as much as possible — to put his team in the driver’s seat.
“I don’t think it (expectations) really weigh on me that much, because when I go in to bat the only thing that stays in the mind is how I will score runs in a particular situation,” Gill added.
Gill also asserted that he would opt to open for his team if he will be asked to do so in the impending edition of the IPL. Previously, he had played against his batting position which hasn’t affected his batting results.
“If I was given an option, I would prefer to open the innings,” Gill further said.
You need to adapt: Shubman Gill

The 21-year-old batsman Gill maintained that he won’t find any problem on playing UAE pitches which are on the slower side. The promising batsman believes one needs to acclimatize on such conditions to excel.
Owing to his great confidence, Gill is certain to play on different surfaces without much hindrance.
“No, I don’t think we need to change to any kind of specific bats (in terms of weight), because in India we are used to playing on slow pitches. You need to adapt and I believe I can play on all kinds of surfaces,” Gill added.
After making his debut for KKR in 2019, Gill had featured in 27 matches in which he had amassed 499 runs at an average of 33.3. He has also slammed four half-centuries in 24 innings.
KKR is set to face defending champions Mumbai Indians at Abu Dhabi on September 23. However, Gill is sweating out in nets to bring best out of him.
The IPL 2020 will commence from September 19 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at it was deferred due to the novel coronavirus. Earlier, the 13th season was scheduled to begin on March 29.
