KKR owned by the Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan is the two-time IPL winner. They last lifted the trophy in the 2014 season under the captaincy of Gautam Gambhir. For the upcoming season, they have recruited their former cricketer Brendon McCullum as the head coach.
Along with McCullum, the team’s supporting staff includes Abhishek Nair of India as an assistant coach. The team mentor is David Hussey, bowling coach Kylie Mills, assistant bowling coach Omkar Salvi, fielding coach James Foster, physiotherapist Kamlesh Jain, strength and conditioning coach Chris Donaldson.
Dinesh Karthik-led Kolkata Knight Riders will play their first match on 23 September against Mumbai Indians.
