The England opener decided to skip IPL 2019 due to World Cup and will be making his IPL return in the next season. Although he hasn’t had a great run in IPL – he has 179 runs in eight matches – the World Cup-winning player will be high on confidence, courtesy his impressive run during the tournament which played a pivotal role in England’s title triumph.

After failing to perform in five Tests he played at home, Roy looks set to concentrate on white-ball and will aim to become permanent in playing XI in IPL.
