D’Arcy Short:
Playing for Hobart Hurricanes in BBL, the unorthodox spinner of Australia has recently turned to a runs-smasher. In the second last game for the Hobart Hurricanes, D’Arcy Short unleashed a power-hitting century against Perth Scorchers on January 5. Hitting seven sixes and three fours in his 70-ball century, Short gave a glimpse of his ability to bat in the top-order.
Before hitting a stunning century, the left-handed chinaman bowler has also scored two half-centuries. In seven games for Hobart Hurricanes, Short has amassed a total of 248 runs at an average of 41.33. However, the Australian bowler was left unsold in the IPL 2020 Auctions.
Apart from his impressive batting, Short has been impressive with his slow unorthodox spin against Sydney Thunder in the last game he played. In the spellbinding game, the southpaw’s five-wicket haul helped the Hurricanes to restrict the opponents for just 128 runs in less than 18 overs.
Although this hasn’t phased the spirits of the 29-year-old spinner, his recent form in the Australian domestic league might be giving a sore eye to Rajasthan Royals (RR).
