Varun Chakravarthy (Kolkata Knight Riders):

The 28-year-old chinaman hails Tamil Nadu in the domestic games of the nation. Although he had a rough time in his debut game for the Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2019, Varun Chakravarthy was roped in by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for a whopping of INR 4 crores.
In the last edition of the premier league, Varun gave away considerably the worst opening to the IPL opening as a debutant. He gave away 25 runs in his very first over before he injured his finger and was ruled out of the longest part of the tournament.
Surprisingly enough, the match was held against KKR who recently have roped him in for his ability to throw most dot-balls in the powerplays and slog overs in the domestic circuit. In the year 2018-19, Varun had bowled 50 per cent dot balls which is a big feat for any bowler.
Although things weren’t rosy for the right-arm leg-spinner in his debut IPL, he will have another chance at the Eden Gardens playing for the Riders. And with the release of Piyush Chawla, Varun could potentially have the chance of bowling in tandem with Sunil Naraine in the IPL 2020.
