SunRisers Hyderabad all-rounder Vijay Shankar becomes the third player from the franchise to be sent back home due to injury. Earlier, at the start of the tournament, their premier pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mitchell Marsh were ruled out because of injury.
According to Sports Tak, Vijay Shankar will not play the remainder of the IPL 2020. Notably, he was earlier benched because he had picked up pain in his back. It is a huge set back for SRH who are striving to qualify for the playoffs with two games left to play.
Vijay Shankar huge ouster for SRH:
While playing against Delhi Capitals on Tuesday, the allrounder was seen limping after bowling the fifth ball of his second over. The physio attended him quickly and gave him some first aid, but the spinner could not manage to complete his over. And finally, the last ball of his second over was bowled by David Warner.
Last week, Vijay Shankar had taken the team to victory with his gritty knock against Rajasthan Royals. He played as the second fiddle to Manish Pandey and stitched over 100 runs partnership. Apart from batting, his contribution with the ball has also been effective.
Overall, he has featured in seven games and has scored 97 runs while picked four wickets at an economy rate of just 6.22. SunRisers Hyderabad are surely going to miss him as they are already struggling with their team combination.
On Saturday, David Warner will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Sharjah while their last league match will be against Mumbai Indian (MI) on Sunday (November 1). As they are lying at second last in the points table, both the matches are crucial for SRH to secure a berth in the IPL 2020 playoffs.
