IPL prize money: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) campaign in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 came to an end with defeats in their respective playoffs games.
LSG were the first team to exit the playoffs after losing to RCB in the Eliminator. RCB were the next to bow out of the competition. The Faf du Plessis-led side exited IPL after losing to Rajasthan Royals in the second Qualifier.
RCB’s defeat has further extended their long wait for their first-ever IPL title. The Bengaluru-based outfit is playing in IPL since the inaugural season and are yet to lay their hands on the trophy.

They are one of the only three teams who are playing in the league since 2008 but are yet to win the trophy. The other two teams are Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings.
On the other hand, LSG were making their first-ever appearance in the IPL this season. The Lucknow-based outfit would have loved to go all the way in the competition but would not too disappointed with their performance in their inaugural season.
IPL prize money for RCB and LSG:
While RCB and LSG have missed out on the chance to play the final and win the trophy, their appearance in the playoffs have ensured a good amount of prize money for the respective franchises.
RCB have received Rs 7 crore for finishing the tournament at the third spot. On the other hand, LSG have received Rs 6.5 crore for the 4th spot finish this season.

Talking about the prize money for the winners and the runners-up, the champions will receive Rs 20 crore while the losing team in the final will get Rs 13 crore.
Meanwhile, the final of IPL 2022 will take place on Sunday (May 29) in Ahmedabad. Gujarat Titans will lock horns against Rajasthan Royals in the title-decider.
