According to reports, the Delhi Capitals coaching staff is likely to face the axe ahead of the next IPL season. Ricky Ponting-led- support staff has a renowned group with the likes of Sourav Ganguly, Shane Watson, Ajit Agarkar, and James Hopes in their management, but could inspire the team to register a single win in the league.

David Warner-led side had a disastrous start to the season as they lost five matches in the trot. Delhi Capitals were hammered in all five matches and they found nowhere close to winning in the match as they outplayed in the tournament so far.

According to the reports in PTI, Delhi Capitals might looking be for a new coaching set-up in the next edition as they failed miserably in the league so far.

“Obviously, nothing will happen mid-season but the poor result for two successive seasons will have its share of repercussions when JSW and GMR, the two co-owners sit back and take stock of the season,”

The JSW and GMR group have T20 teams around the globe, as their teams Pretoria Capitals and Delhi Capitals Women’s Team played exceptionally well in the league, and will look to certainly add a few new faces in the Indian Premier League.

“So you will certainly not have this jumbo coaching staff next season for sure. There will be a few heads that might roll,” the source added.

With Delhi Capitals regular skipper Rishabh Pant ruled out of the cash-rich league due to a fatal car accident. David Warner was handed the responsibility to lead the Delhi team, which didn’t go according to the plan as they have had a poor start in the last few years.

There Are People In That Dugout That Are Not Used To Losing – Simon Doull On Delhi Capitals Support Staff

Cricketer-turned-commentator Simon Doull said that lot of people in the Delhi Capitals dressing room are used to losing referring to Ricky Ponting, Sourav Ganguly, and Shane Watson, who form the core management in the Delhi Capitals side.

“There are people in that dugout that are not used to losing. Ricky Ponting’s one,” Simon Doull, mentioned.

Ravi Shastri was quick to respond to Doull, stating that David Warner also has a habit of winning the matches for the team, as it would be difficult for him to take up the losses.

Delhi Capitals will have a 4-day break, before going into the next game and they would look to stage a comeback in the league stage as they will play two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders on their home ground in Arun Jaitley Stadium.
