Mumbai Indians head coach Mark Boucher feels their star batter Suryakumar Yadav’s form is a funny thing as he has been doing really well in the nets as it came up well against the Punjab Kings and reckons that the match was very well in the balance, as the game tilted in the favour of Punjab in the finals over.
The World No.1 T20 batter has been going through some tough times in International cricket, as he could not score runs against Australia in the ODI series and had a string of low scores in the initial games of the IPL, but came back stronger against Punjab Kings to produce a blistering knock of 57 runs off just 26 balls in the chase of 215 runs.
Speaking to the media, Mark Boucher was happy with the Suryakumar Yadav innings, stating that Surya has been doing very well in the practice session and it was just translated into the performance against the Sam Curran-led side.
“It’s always nice for Suryakumar Yadav to get some runs. His form is a funny thing, as sometimes you judge it by the numbers. He’s been hitting the ball really well in the nets and it was just a matter of time before he translated that into runs. So, I’m very happy for him,” Mark Boucher said.

Mumbai Indians head coach said that Suryakumar Yadav will be relieved with the kind of knock he played against Punjab Kings as it was one of his most devastating innings of him in a long time and said that he would look continue his form going into the tournament.
I Thought The Game Was In The Balance – Mark Boucher
Mark Boucher said that game was very well in the balance, as their batter brought them into the contest after giving away too many runs in the death overs and added that they are lot of positives to take from the game as the match slipped towards end due to their sloppy bowling in the end overs.

“I thought the game was in the balance. I thought we batted really well tonight. Maybe they did get too many runs which is disappointing. Because I think that, overall, if I look at the game, we had control for some percentage of the game, but let it slip towards the end of our bowling,” Mark Boucher added.
In the highly competitive season of the Indian Premier League, Mumbai Indians currently have three wins and three losses from their six games so far in the league stage. Rohit Sharma-side will take on the defending champions Gujarat Titans on April 25 in Narendra Modi Stadium.
