Former Indian veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh believes Ravindra Jadeja will be an important player for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2023. The Indian all-rounder had a disastrous outing last season with both bat and ball before injury ruled him out of the league in 2022.
Harbhajan Singh is currently part of Star Sports, the official broadcaster of IPL 2023. He has expectations from the star-Indian allrounder Ravindra Jadeja, who is coming off after a fine form from the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, stating that he is looking forward to seeing how Ravindra Jadeja perform this season.
“One player who I am going to have my eyes on will be Ravindra Jadeja. I want to see what kind of batting he’s going to do for CSK. I think he’ll be pushed higher up in the batting order (this season).
“As well as his four overs with the ball (will be key). If you look at world cricket currently, there’s no better all-rounder than him. So, I am looking forward to seeing Ravindra Jadeja performing in the IPL,” Harbhajan Singh said.
Ahead of the season, Chennai Super Kings acquired the services of Ben Stokes and Ajinkya Rahane in place of Robin Uthappa, Chris Jordan, and Dwayne Bravo. Chennai Super Kings will look to make comeback in the season after a poor season in 2022 where they finished 9th in the points table.
Hardik Pandya Played Like A Proper Batter For Gujarat Titans – Harbhajan Singh
Former Chennai Super Kings spinner Harbhajan Singh feels Gujarat Titans is very flexible in their batting order, with the skipper Hardik Pandya showing his batting abilities at the top of the order last season. Harbhajan stated Pandya was a proper batter and also praised Ashish Nehra and his management for keeping the team atmosphere happy.
“One thing which they’ve done better than the rest is that they’ve been very flexible. They’ve never been rigid about who bats where.
“We saw Hardik Pandya coming up in the batting order and scoring those runs and he wasn’t just slogging the ball, he played like a proper batter for Gujarat Titans last season. He was very smart last season. From what I gathered from Ashish Nehra and the entire team management, they were a very-very happy team,” Harbhajan Singh added.
Defending champions Gujarat Titans will take on Chennai Super Kings in the opening encounter of the cash-rich league in Ahmedabad, on Friday. Gujarat Titans will be without the service of star batter David Miller and Chennai Super Kings will be without Sisanda Magala, who will miss out on the match due to the ODI series against the Netherlands.
