In the post-match press conference, Dhruv Jurel was elated to play against MS Dhoni, as he was grown up watching the legendary Indian captain finishing the game for the Men in Blue. Jurel said more than the pressure it was motivation to play before the Indian legend.

“I am fortunate enough to share the same field with Dhoni sir. I have been seeing him playing since I was a child. I don’t feel any pressure. On the other hand, it serves as motivation. I am motivated knowing that he is standing behind me and watching me. That is enough for me.” Dhruv Jurel said

Jurel has shown the ability to hit sixes and fours from the word go in this season and has chipped in with invaluable cameos consistently for his team. Speaking on his role in the team, the team management wanted to finish the game for their side and wanted to hit long sixes for his team.

“This [finishers] is the spot that was given by the management, so I practice like that. I doesn’t feel like I have less amount of balls and I have to score big runs. I have practiced enough that I have to hit six for every ball.

The 22-year-old cricketer from Uttar Pradesh has certainly made himself one of the bright young prospects in IPL 2023 and has been one of the finds of the tournament and will look to continue his fine form in the league.

“I do three-four hours of batting every day, making sure I am getting something from my batting. I just try to keep the game simple. I know that I can hit everywhere. I got some time as I went to bat with 4-5 overs left. I know if I score at a run-a-ball for six-seven balls, I can cover that up,” Dhruv Jurel added.

Rajasthan Royals will take on five-time champions Mumbai Indians in the next league game on April 30 in the iconic Wankhede stadium. Sanju Samson-led side is currently topping the table with 10 points from eight games.
