Kolkata Knight Riders head coach Chandrakant Pandit asserted that his team is not short of experience as their players have done exceptionally well in domestic and International cricket. The two-time champions will be playing their first home game against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Thursday.
Ahead of their game against RCB, the Indian domestic coaching legend said that their team might look less experienced on paper, but the players have done very well for their domestic sides under pressure.
“I would not say that experience is lacking. Every individual has created an impact at the domestic and international levels. They are all reputed cricketers,” Chandrakant Pandit said.

Kolkata Knight Riders dealt with a huge blow losing out the skipper Shreyas Iyer due to a back injury ahead of the season and appointed Nitish Rana as the new skipper of the franchise for IPL 2023. Speaking about the players in the team, Pandit believes the players in the team can make an impact on the team.
“I believe each and every player is capable of playing well. We are not depending on someone. Whatever squad we have, each one of them is good enough to give a good impact,” Pandit said.
Pandit is known for his ability to inspire and motivate the cricketers are well known and he was appointed the head coach of Kolkata Knight Riders following the exit of their coach Brendon McCullum.

Speaking on their new signing Jason Roy, Chandrakant Pandit said that the England opener can be used as an impact player for the two-time champions. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have signed England opener Jason Roy as the replacement for Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan for the remainder of the IPL 2023.
“We will be missing two players. Roy is a top-order batter and he can be used as an impact player,” Chandrakant Pandit said.

The England opener is likely to join KKR for their third match against Gujarat Titans. Jason Roy hit one of the fastest T20 centuries playing for Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League 2023 and recently did well for England as well in the Bangladesh series.
