Young Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal said that he enjoys batting with England white-ball skipper Jos Buttler in Rajasthan Royals, as he shares a lot of inputs during their stay at the crease. The 21-year-old played a blistering knock to score 60 runs off just 31 balls to give Rajasthan an ideal start against Delhi Capitals which helped their team register the second win in the league stage.

Speaking to the reporters, after the match against Delhi Capitals, Jaiswal was grateful to open the batting alongside their star batter Jos Buttler as he always helps the youngster in the middle

“It was amazing, enjoying a lot while batting. When Jos is there, he gives you very good messages, just try to play good cricketing shots,” Yashasvi Jaiswal told reporters.

Jaiswal said that he worked hard ahead of the season, and added that he is trying to express himself with the bat. He is keen to learn from the legend around him which help him grow as a player.

“I have worked hard. Trying to express myself. Learning is important to me. Growing up as a young player is important for me. My approach is always to play scoring shots.”

Yashasvi Jaiswal was in terrific form on Saturday as hit the DC pacer Khaleel Ahmed for 20 runs off the very first over, smashing him for consecutive fours on the first three balls of the game. The 21-year-old has two half-centuries from the first three games and will look to replicate his form in the forthcoming matches.

If It’s A Loose Ball I Will Punish It – Yashasvi Jaiswal

Yashasvi Jaiswal revealed that he would hit whenever there is a loose ball and credited Jos Buttler for his improvement in batting and added that on some days he can take on the bowlers by playing his shot expressing confidence in his ability.

“In my mind, I was like if it is a loose ball I will hit it. I think everything I learn from Butler. I try to see how he practices. I knew I can take on a few bowlers. Some day you see the ball very well. I played my shots and expressed myself, I had that confidence. I kept telling myself if it was a loose ball I will punish it. I will try to score runs,” Yashasvi Jaiswal added.

The Mumbai-born opener had a terrific domestic season. With Jaiswal finding form in the early stage of the tournament along with Jos Buttler, it would be difficult for the opponents to stop him as both the openers are known for their aggressive batting style in the power play.
