Gujarat Titans opener Shubman Gill is excited ahead of the completely packed cricket season for India in 2023, as he is expected to pivotal role in the WTC final, Asia Cup, and ODI World Cup later this year in India. The 23-year-old has been in the form of his since the start of 2023 scoring hundred in all three formats of the game for India.

The 23-year-old  is already touted to be the next big thing in Indian Cricket and has been in the form of life since the start of the 2023 season, proving to be a vital cog for the Indian team in all three formats and carried on his form in the IPL 2023.

Speaking to News18, Shubman Gill was elated by his performance in this edition of the IPL as he thanked the universe and feels that his job is not done in the cash-rich league as they will take on Chennai Super Kings in a high-octane clash on Monday.

“It’s been great, and very fortunate, I thank the universe. But every time, like today, I have this feeling that the job is not done yet. Every time I perform and do well the next morning, I have this feeling that the job is not done yet”.

In Qualifier 2, Shubman Gill played a crucial inning against five-time champions producing match-winning innings of 129 runs off 60 balls to help them qualify for the second consecutive finals in the cash-rich league.

The right-hand opener said that he will have important tournaments coming up after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League, as he established himself as an all-formats for the national team in recent times.

“Once IPL finishes, the World Test Championship start. Once WTC is over, Asia Cup will be there. Once Asia Cup is over, you’ll be like ‘Oh, the World Cup is here’. So there is always something in my mind that I look forward to and (feel) the job is not done yet. But it’s been a great year so far for me and I’m fortunate and happy for that,” Shubman Gill said.

In IPL 2023 season, the Indian youngster has slammed 851 runs at an average of 60.79 and a strike rate of 156.43. The 23-year-old has three tons and four half-centuries to his name this season, as he scored his three centuries in the last four games of the IPL.

Shubman Gill revealed that it has been a busy year for him in International Cricket, as he focuses only on playing throughout the season and reckons that 2023 is going to be an exciting year for him with the WTC final and ODI World Cup scheduled later this year.

“It’s been a busy year for me, but I don’t consider practicing and playing as busy because that’s something that I’ve grown up with and that’s something I have been doing my whole life. It charges me up, but it’s been a busy year. It’s going to get busier with WTC and the World Cup coming this year and it’s going to be a really fun and exciting year for me,” Shubman Gill added.

The Right-hander opener is expected to be the frontline opener for the Indian team in the WTC final and ODI World Cup, as his form will be crucial for men in blue going into the all-important ICC events.
