Chennai Super Kings Opener Ruturaj Gaikwad revealed that he spends a lot of time with his batting partner Devon Conway off the field which eventually helps them to have good partnerships on the field. The four-time champions registered their 6th victory in the league stage to move second in the points table.
Chennai Super Kings openers have provided their side with a solid start in every game, the two batters are among the top run-getters in the league stage complementing each other very well on the field to take on the bowlers at the powerplay.
Speaking to the media after their win against Mumbai Indians, Ruturaj Gaikwad said that he gets along with Devon Conway very well on and off the field and wanted to continue the same form going into the important stage of the tournament.
“I’m spending a lot of time with him (Conway) off the field as well. We’re going along well. I would like to continue the same. We try to continue the positive intent in the powerplay because the wicket was on the slower side,” Ruturaj Gaikwad said.
The Right-hander opener lauded their bowlers for picking up early wickets to put Mumbai Indians straight away on the back foot and believes that the team has performed very well on the field.
“Good start from the bowling unit as well. Wicket wasn’t slow initially in the first half but they started well and good all round work from the fielding team as well. (50th catch) Fleming would be happy about that,” Gaikwad added.
Devon Conway (458) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (384) has been a standout performer for their side in this edition of IPL 2023 and will look to continue their fine form going into the tournament.

Ruturaj Gaikwad believes that it is a very important victory for his side to move up in the points table and feels that it is good to have a 3-point cushion in the table other than other teams, who are vying for a place in the playoffs and wants to make use of their next two home games to seal the spot in playoffs.
