Lucknow Super Giants left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat has been ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2023 due to a  shoulder injury he sustained during the practice session ahead of their clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore. It will huge blow for LSG management, who already will miss out on the services of their skipper KL Rahul at least for the next few games.

LSG team has suffered injuries throughout the league as their missed Mohsin Khan from the 1st game and Mark Wood after playing a few games for the side and now will be without the service of Unadkat for the remainder of the tournament.

The 31-year-old was seen in a practice session ahead of their game against RCB, where his left foot got struck up, and he landed nastily on his left elbow and was seen in pain and had an ice pack in his shoulder which kept him out of RCB’s clash.

According to reports in ESPNcricinfo, Jaydev Unakdat had scans in Mumbai, and on the advice of BCCI medical staff, he withdraw from the tournament to keep him available for the all-important World Test Championship final starting on June 7. Unadkat had a poor season for LSG so far playing only three games and hasn’t picked a wicket in his game for the KL-Rahul side.

Indian team management will be worried by injury concerns of Jaydev Unadkat and KL Rahul as both players are part of India’s squad for the WTC final against Australia. According to reports, Unadkat will travel to NCA to work on his fitness to make fully fit for the game against Pat Cummins-led side.

India will take on Australia in the 2023 WTC Final at Kensington Oval on June 7, 2023, with a reserve day on June 12, and will look to end the ICC title drought in England. Team India lost the inaugural edition of the WTC Final in 2021 against New Zealand.

According to reports, Lucknow Super Giants All-rounder Krunal Pandya is likely to lead the side in the absence of their regular skipper KL Rahul, The 32-year-old was seen as the on-field captain in the absence of the Karnataka batter against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The right-hander batter is likely to miss a few games for his side to manage his injury ahead of the all-important WTC Final and ODI World Cup later this year.

Lucknow Super Giants will look to win against the four-time champions Chennai Super Kings in Ekana Stadium On Wednesday. On the other hand, CSK will look to make use of the spinning surface of Lucknow to make a comeback after their back-to-back losses in the league stage.
