Lucknow Super Giants all-rounder Marcus Stoinis revealed that he went to Delhi for a short visit after their heartbreaking loss against defending champions Gujarat Titans. KL Rahul-side gifted victory to GT from a winning position as they were unable to chase down 30 runs in the final six overs.
With the much-needed break, asked to bat first, LSG batters were at their absolute best, as they took on Punjab Kings bowlers by smashing them all around the park which resulted in a score of 257-5 at the 20-over mark.
Speaking with LSG’s bowling coach Morne Morkel, Marcus Stoinis revealed that he was off to Delhi alongside his girlfriend and Deepak Hooda for some training with the local coaches and to explore a few new things in India during the break.

“My reset button was a little bit different. I set off to Delhi with my girlfriend and also my boy Deepak Hooda. We took off there and we got to a bit of the grassroots. We went and did some training in Delhi with some of the coaches and a few net bowlers and that sort of stuff,” Marcus Stoinis said.
Stoinis disclosed that Deepak Hooda showed his training methodologies and the people behind him, who helped to prepare him for the high-octane tournaments, and said that it was a nice reset for him from the loss against GT.
“Deepak showed me around his place and how he structures his training and looks after the people that help him get to the level that he is. It was nice. It was a nice reset. Nice to get back to the grassroots and why we are playing and see some of India as well.”
The 33-year-old was at his absolute best with the bat scoring 72 runs off just 40 balls to help his side post the second-highest total in IPL history. The Australian all-rounder registered his highest score in IPL history against Punjab Kings and also picked up the important wicket of Shikhar Dhawan in the 2nd innings.

Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis hurt his finger badly while bowling to Atharva Taide in his 2nd over of the innings and walked out of the field in terrible pain, with Ayush Badoni completing the over for LSG.
Speaking on his injury, Stoinis revealed that the finger is dislocated and they would go for a scan to know the exact status of the injury and is hopeful of playing the next game.
“My finger, unfortunately, dislocated it out there. We’re going to go for a scan and let’s see what the damage is. It’s feeling okay, so I am hopeful of playing the next game,” Marcus Stoinis added.
Lucknow Super Giants will return to home Ekana Stadium for their clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 1 and will look to continue their winning momentum against the Faf-du Plessis-led side.
