Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh praised Royal Challengers Bangalore pacer Mohammed Siraj for his sensational bowling performance in the league stage of IPL 2023. Siraj is the highest wicket-taker in the league with 12 wickets from 6 games at an economy of 6.70.
The Hyderabad pacer has been a standout performer for the inconsistent Royal Challengers Bangalore side in IPL 2023, the Indian speedster has been leading the pace department in both home and away games with other RCB bowlers going for runs in this edition.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, cricketer-turned-commentator Harbhajan Singh lauded Siraj for his exceptional bowling in the powerplay, as he has bowled consistently well on any kind of wickets. Harbhajan hailed him for a massive improvement from last season.
“Mohammed Siraj has been absolutely sensational with his line and length and I don’t think anyone in world cricket is bowling better than him at the moment. The Siraj of last year and this year have a massive difference as he is not only avoiding leaking runs but is also picking up wickets and terrorizing the batters,” Harbhajan Singh said.
Mohammed Siraj has been impressive against the Punjab Kings producing a match-winning performance by snaring 4 wickets and giving just 21 runs in his four overs. Mohammed Siraj has grown in his stature in the last couple of years with him finding success in white-ball cricket said that he worked hard during the lockdown on his fitness and bowling and he tried to work in every department and wanted to contribute to the team in the best way possible.
“The lockdown was really important for me because I used to get hit for boundaries very often before that. I worked on my plans, my fitness, and my bowling and it’s all paying dividends now. I always try to improve in every department of the game because I understand it is important to contribute in whichever way possible.”
