Chennai Super Kings bowling coach Dwayne Bravo expressed his confidence in CSK skipper MS Dhoni playing next season for the four-time champions, especially with the impact player rule which can help him to contribute to the team’s success in the league. It is widely speculated that the former Indian skipper might hang his boots after the completion of IPL 2023.
The four-time champions made it into the record 10th final in the cash-rich league with a thumping win over Gujarat Titans on Tuesday. MS Dhoni-led side is the second most successful team in the history of the Indian Premier League with four titles in the cash-rich league next to the Mumbai Indians.
Former CSK all-rounder Dwayne Bravo believes that the CSK skipper will continue playing for the franchise in the forthcoming seasons as he even can play as an impact player for the side and reckons that the team bat deeps with the likes of Rahane and Dube making that batting order strong in IPL 2023 and added that his presence in the field would be unmatched as he can keep the team calm in pressure situations.
“100 percent (will he return to play for CSK in 2024?), especially with the Impact Player rule. He can keep prolonging his career. We bat really deep. I think the likes of Ajinkya Rahane and Shivam Dube, these guys make a huge difference. So you don’t require much from MS. But his ability to keep us calm while the team is under pressure is unmatched,” Dwayne Bravo said.
There has been a lot of speculation that MS Dhoni is playing his last season for Chennai Super Kings(CSK) in the 16th edition of the IPL as the fans turn up in large numbers in CSK colours to support him during home and away games. The former Indian Skipper has been playing for CSK since 2008 and Dhoni receives stunning reception in Chepauk whenever he plays for them.

CSK skipper MS Dhoni said that no decision has been taken regarding his retirement plans as he has good next 8 to 9 months to decide about his future in IPL and reckons that he will available for the CSK team in playing form or in some other capacity in the dressing room.
“I don’t know. I have 8-9 months to decide. The small auction will be around December. So why take that headache right now? I have ample time to decide. But, I will always be there for CSK whether it’s in the playing form or sitting somewhere outside,” Dhoni told Harsha Bhogle.
Dhoni is unarguably one of the greatest Indian captains in the history of cricket winning three ICC titles for India and he has led Chennai Super Kings to become the second most successful franchise winning 4 IPL titles in the cash-rich league.
