Gujarat Titans all-rounder Rahul Tewatia revealed that the main motto of the defending champions is to keep the dressing room environment good despite the wins and losses in the league. Hardik Pandya and Ashish Nehra were praised for their influence on keeping the team’s atmosphere good.
Rahul Tewatia, who played a vital role in the Gujarat Titans’ title campaign in 2022, played a sublime cameo in defending champions Titans’ win over Chennai Super Kings in their first match.
Speaking on a team atmosphere, Tewatia said: “Last match, the way we started, we won the match and the dressing room atmosphere has been decent. Our dressing room’s motto is this, win or lose, the environment should be kept good.”
The 29-year-old all-rounder, speaking on his batting said that he always takes responsibility in finishing the game for his side. He added that he always tries to execute his plan against the opponents.
“I always think it’s a responsibility. I am keen that I have to start from 0. I try and make the team win. There is a little bit of pressure, yes. But when you execute your responsibility, you get a lot of joy. It’s fun,” Rahul Tewatia added.
Coming into their second match with 163 runs to chase, Gujarat Titans lost their openers for just 36 runs, With the Tamil Nadu duo Sai Sudharsan and Vijay Shankar stitching a partnership of 53 runs followed by a brilliant cameo by David Miller, helping the team to chase down the total with 11 balls to spare.
I Will Do Well And Execute My Skills – Rahul Tewatia On His Bowling
Rahul Tewatia was not required to bat against Delhi Capitals in their second game of the league as David Miller and Sai Sudharsan finished the game in style for Gujarat. Speaking on his bowling, Rahul Tewatia said that his bowling diminished a bit during IPL 2022–and added he has the confidence of doing well for the team when provided an opportunity in bowling.
“If you ask me personally, I am a bowler first. Then my batting role comes. But after coming to Gujarat Titans, last year we were playing in Mumbai, my bowling role diminished a bit, and the batting role got more prominence. I have been behind Ashish bhai for bowling, whenever I get the opportunity to bowl, I will do well and execute my skills,” Rahul Tewatia maintained.
Defending Champions Gujarat Titans will take on two-time Champions Kolkata Knight Riders in their second home game at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on April 9.
