Former Pakistan skipper Salman Butt banged cricketer-turned-commentator Simon Doull over his remarks on Virat Kohli’s innings against Lucknow Super Giants on their third game in the league stage. Doull commented that Kohli was concerned about his milestone over the team’s success.
Former New Zealand pacer Simon Doull, who was seen commentating during Virat Kohli’s batting slammed the former RCB Skipper as he took 10 balls to move from 42 to 50 runs with 10 wickets in hands and added that the players should have tried to go hard, especially in the wickets in hand.
Speaking on his youtube channel, Salman Butt slammed Simon Doull over his remarks on Kohli’s innings comparing it with Doull’s statement over Babar Azam’s slow innings against Quetta Gladiators in PSL 2023 and said that the former Indian skipper tried to hit young Ravi Bishnoi, which didn’t have a proper connection and also added Kohli has no point to prove anything.
“When he was in Pakistan, he used similar words for Babar Azam. If he had watched the game consciously, he would’ve noticed that Kohli tried to hit Bishnoi three-four times but he missed. That is part of the game. He has 75 centuries in international cricket. He doesn’t have to prove anything to anyone. It’s utter rubbish. Doull has played cricket, but he was a bowler,” Salman Butt said.
Virat Kohli looked at a good touch against LSG as he scored 61 runs off 44 balls with a strike rate under 140, he started the innings very well in the power play, before the spinners controlled his run flow in the middle over, before being dismissed by veteran spinner Amit Mishra in the 12th over.
Get Out Of This Narrow-Minded Thinking – Salman Butt Advice To Simon Doull
Former Pakistan opener Salman Butt believes that Virat Kohli achieved enormous things on the cricket field and said that he is not a young player to play for a milestone to seal a place in the team and criticized Simon Doull for his narrow-minded thinking and reckoned that Doull’s is trying to get attention commenting on the big stature players.
“Young players often play like this as getting to milestones might secure their place in the team. Why would Kohli do that? This is RCB we are talking about. He is not fighting for his place in the Indian team. He is a world-class player. Get a life. Get out of this narrow-minded thinking. All the big players like Babar, Virat, and Williamson are not power-hitters. They put a value on their wicket. Maybe he’s trying to get attention,”
Earlier, Simon Doull, who was seen doing commentary in PSL 8, made a massive statement after Babar’s side lost against Quetta Gladiators in PSL 2023, he quickly pointed Pakistani skipper’s slower strike rate in his century innings.
