ToggleIPL 2023 schedule: The schedule for the sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was announced on Friday (February 17). The much-awaited IPL 2023 will get underway on March 31 with a clash between defending champions Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium, Ahmedabad. The final is scheduled to take place on May 28 in Ahmedabad.

The tournament will see a total of 70 league matches being played that includes 18 double headers. IPL 2023 will be played across 12 venues. In addition to the 10 venues of each franchises, two more venues – Dharamsala and Guwahati will also host few games this season. The tournament returns to its familiar home and away format with all the teams to play seven games at their home venue and seven away.

The 10 teams have been divided into two groups – Group A and Group B. While Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants are in Group A, Chennai Super Kings, Punjab Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans are in Group B.

IPL 2023 schedule:
On the first day of IPL 2023, only one match will take place as Gujarat Titans will be opening their campaign against heavyweights Chennai Super Kings. CSK will be desperate to start the season on a good note after missing out on the playoffs last year.
On April 1, the first double header day of IPL 2023 will get underway. In the first game of the day, Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders will open their respective campaigns by locking horns against each other. It will be followed by a clash between Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals.
On April 2, the remaining teams will also open their campaigns. Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on Rajasthan Royals in the first game of the day before Royal Challengers Bangalore will play against Mumbai Indians. So all the ten teams will be in action inside the first 3 days of IPL 2023.
