Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh heaped praise on Chennai Super Kings star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja for his precise and accurate bowling against the Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday. The four-time champions outplayed the Aiden Markram-led side by seven wickets in a low-scoring encounter.
Ravindra Jadeja has been a sensation, since his return from injury in the 2023 Border Gavaskar Trophy-winning back-to-back player of the match awards. The 34-year-old continued his fine form for the Chennai Super Kings picking up nine wickets in six games at an economy rate of 6.70.
Speaking about Jadeja’s match-winning performance against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, Harbhajan Singh lauded Ravindra Jadeja for his accurate line and length against the Hyderabad side and stated that he didn’t give any easy runs to the visiting team.
“You get the rhythm and if see Ravindra Jadeja today – he didn’t bowl even one bad ball. The line and length were so precise that the batters had to do something special to score runs, that he won’t give runs, so you would have to play some shots to score runs,” Harbhajan Singh said.
Chennai Super Kings is currently placed third in the IPL 2023 points table. They have won four of their first six matches in the IPL. MS Dhoni-led side will take on two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders in their next game on April 23 in the iconic Eden Gardens.
Mayank Agarwal Gave A Telegram That He Was Going To Come Out – Harbhajan Singh
In the post-match analysis in Star Sports, Harbhajan Singh was baffled by Sunrisers Hyderabad batter’s shot selection in the Chepauk pitch, stating the example of their star batter Mayank Agarwal, who batted in the middle order and was dismissed cheaply for two runs
“The shot options they chose were wrong. Mayank Agarwal came out of the crease so early. He gave a telegram that he was going to come out and allowed the bowler to see him and bowl slightly wider,” Harbhajan Singh added.
Ravindra Jadeja was the star performer for the four-time champions, as the Indian all-rounder bowled brilliantly well in the middle overs picking up the important wickets of Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, and Mayank Agarwal to restrict the 2016-champions for 134-7 at the end of 20 overs.
With 135 runs to chase, Chennai Super Kings had a blistering start to the innings with Devon Conway batting brilliantly to score his third half-century in the IPL 2023, finding good support from Ruturaj Gaikwad at the other end. The New Zealander opener remained unbeaten on 77 runs to help CSK register their fourth victory in the league stage.
