Delhi Capitals all-rounder Mitchell Marsh is hopeful of making comeback in the league when they take on two-time champions–Kolkata Knight Riders in their 6th league match of IPL 2023 on Thursday. Delhi Capitals had a disastrous start to the season as they lost five matches on a trot.
The Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, who came into the IPL after a fine performance against the Indian team in the ODI series. He was the top scorer for Australia with 194 runs, but could not find his form in the cash-rich league.
“There’s no doubt that we would like to be batting better. In all our five matches, we haven’t been able to get off to a reasonable start or we have lost wickets in clumps, We have to string partnerships and we need one player to get a big score, which we have not been able to do. If we can do that, then we can turn it around,” Mitchell Marsh said.
Delhi Capitals was outplayed in all five matches in the tournament so far. The team has collectively failed–and is lying at the bottom spot with 5 losses from as many games.
“It’s always difficult when things are not going right for the team. However, the spirits are high in the camp. We are a family at the Delhi Capitals and we care deeply about each other. We are all working extremely hard and hopefully, we can get a win in our next game,” Marsh added.
With Delhi Capitals regular skipper Rishabh Pant ruled out of the cash-rich league due to a fatal car accident. David Warner was handed the responsibility to lead the Delhi team, which didn’t go according to the plan as they have had a poor start in the last few years.
It’s About Sticking To Your Process And Having Good Intent- Mitchell Marsh
Mitchell Marsh said that he could not execute his game plan in the matches and thinks it important to stick to his game process and play with good intent in the game. The Australian batter has scored only 4 runs in his three matches in the league.
“I’ve not been able to execute my plans. But I know that my process works and therefore, it’s about sticking to your process and having good intent,” Mitchell Marsh added.
David Warner-led side will look to register their 1st victory against the two-time champions on home soil at Arun Jaitley stadium on April 20.
