Former Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ramiz Raja Feels this edition of the Indian Premier League will be remembered for MS Dhoni and the sea of yellow across the country as his fans turned out in large numbers to support the Indian legend and his team. The 41-year-old led Chennai Super Kings to record 5th title in the IPL, winning five titles in the 14 seasons played by them.

There was a lot of speculation that MS Dhoni was playing his last season for Chennai Super Kings(CSK) in the 16th edition of the IPL as the fans turn up in large numbers in CSK colours to support him during home and away games and after the winning the championship, CSK skipper hinted that he would come back to play another season for the five-time champions.

Speaking on his youtube channel, Former Pakistan Cricketer Ramiz Raja was in awe about Dhonimania in the country for the 2023 season and reckons that this season will be remembered after the former Indian Skipper and his fans across the country, stating the example of legendary Sunil Gavaskar getting autograph from the CSK skipper.

“This IPL will be remembered for the color yellow and MS Dhoni. His humility, the Dhonimania, his captaincy, his calmness, and his keeping will be remembered for the ages.

“But most of all, this IPL will be remembered for the moment when a legend like Sunil Gavaskar asked MS Dhoni to sign an autograph on his shirt. There cannot be a bigger compliment for MS Dhoni,” Ramiz Raja.

MS Dhoni has been captaining the Chennai franchise since the inaugural edition (2008) and led the team to become the most successful franchise winning 5 IPL titles in the cash-rich league to equal the record of Mumbai Indians in league history.

Ramiz Raja believes this season will also be remembered for the emergence of young batting talents in India, with the likes of Rinku Singh, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Ruturaj Gaikwad putting up their hands to perform for their teams at the highest level and reckons they can future stars from the country and also hailed players for small nations making a name for themselves in the cash-rich league.

“It will be remembered for young batting talent, the likes of Rinku Singh, Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad. These are stars who’ll decorate these grounds for many years to come. The season will also be remembered for the big names that were benched and players from small nations who made a big mark”.

“The tournament will be remembered for Gujarat Titans’ bowling and leg spin bowling. This IPL had a wow factor. There has never been a spectacle as big in IPL history,” Ramiz Raja Concluded.

IPL 2023 has been one closely fought season, with every team fighting out hard giving no chance for any other teams to put a wrong foot in their game, especially with the introduction of the impact player rule the game has got a new dimension, as the teams were looking to be in their top of the game throughout the match.
