Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya revealed an interesting conversation he had alongside young Yash Dayal after his disastrous show with the ball against two-time champions in their home stadium, where he failed to defend 29 runs in the final over of the innings.
Hardik Pandya was not part of the game, as he had some illness, recalling the memories of the team get-together after their shocking loss in the final over. Hardik Pandya said that he spoke to Yash Dayal stating that it would hurt you right now, but remember it happens only once in a million games.
Speaking to Jiocinema, Hardik Pandya revealed post-match advice to the GT pacers as he would feel very down to not execute his plan in the final over against his fellow-state mate Rinku Singh.
“I was not well in that game, but without me saying, Vikram Solanki was like, ‘We will have a get-together today’. Because our thing is simple, when we lose, we will have to get together. I told him (Yash Dayal), “I know it stings right now. But this is a one-in-a-million game, everyone will remember you!’,” Hardik Pandya said.
Hardik Pandya said that it was a difficult game to lose, but the team management treats wins and losses the same and said that the boys had fun even after losing against KKR in their home stadium
“It was a difficult game to lose. But the good thing about us is we don’t put anything under the carpet,” he added.
In that game, The left-arm pacer failed to defend 29 runs in the last over as his state-mate Rinku Singh took him for the cleaners in Ahmedabad. Rinku went all guns blazing in the final over, as Yash Dayal could not execute his plan as he landed three full tosses and two slower ones which found no match to Rinku’s batting exploits.
I Always Felt That Good People Get To Good Places- Hardik Pandya On Vijay Shankar’s Heroics Against KKR
Hardik Pandya heaped praise on their star batter Vijay Shankar for his match-winning performance against the Kolkata Knight Riders as he scored an unbeaten 51 off 24 balls, including five sixes to help his team register a sixth victory in the league stage.
“He is a fitter Vijay Shankar, more confident and the amount of hard work he has put in is terrific. His hits changed the game and moving forward, we can expect more of the same. I always felt that good people get to good places and he is certainly one of those,” Hardik Pandya maintained.
Vijay Shankar’s aggressive innings helped Gujarat Titans chase down the total in 17.5 overs as he accelerated his KKR spinner Varun Chakravarthy in his final overs taking him for 3 sixes to rule KKR completely out the game in the 17th over.
