Virat Kohli and Mohammed Siraj had poor outings for RCB in 2022 but came back stronger this year to lead the team to victory ways alongside their skipper Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell, with these players being the mainstay of the RCB in 2023.
With Kohli being dismissed for a duck against Rajasthan Royals, he practised hard against their bowlers in the practice session, particularly against the RCB’s leading wicket-taker Mohammed Siraj. In the first two balls, Kohli was beaten and then he came back stronger to hit some brilliant sixes – including the straight six he famously hit off Haris Rauf against Pakistan at the T20 World Cup last October. Speaking on strategies to bowl in Chinnaswamy,
“The way I operate in the Powerplay, I stuck to the same approach. When the ball is new, obviously there is some swing. After that, we all know what King Kohli is capable of when he is in form. He smashed me all over the Chinnaswamy,” Mohammed Siraj said
Mohammed Siraj has been a standout performer for the RCB side in this edition of the Indian Premier League. The Hyderabad-born pacer has breathed fire with the new ball in the league stage picking up important wickets in the powerplay.
