Royal Challengers Bangalore head coach Sanjay Bangar heaped praise on their star batter Virat Kohli for his work ethic in the practice session and his urge to prepare well for the matches. The former Indian skipper is known for his perseverance and has been practising hard for his side.
Virat Kohli was seen practising hard ahead of their clash against Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday, on the previous match the RCB batter was dismissed for a golden duck of an in-swinging delivery by Trent Boult and will look to rectify his mistake against the two-time champions.
In a Video released by the Royal Challengers Bangalore social media handle, Sanjay Bangar spoke highly regarding Kohli’s work ethic and his desire to rectify mistakes as soon as possible and to improve his performance in the game and said that he will always want to upgrade his batting
“Whenever he comes for training, he makes sure that he does his things well, and if at all there are any issues he is concerned about, he wants to straightaway address it and rectify it, so that is the hallmark of his game and he is somebody who always pushes the limits and the barrier for himself. It augurs well that he is in that sort of a mindset,” Sanjay Bangar said.
With Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, and Glenn Maxwell scoring the majority of runs for their side, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s middle order has not fired so far in the tournament. Speaking on RCB’s middle order owes, Sanjay Bangar expects them to do well in the forthcoming games.
“It is a T20 game, so if the top three or four batters get to play a lot of balls, then it leaves very little work to be done. But yes, we would certainly like to have a little more contributions from the middle order, but it does not mean that they are not contributing.”
RCB middle orders Mahipal Lomror, Shabaz Ahmed, Dinesh Karthik, and Suyash Prabudessai have not contributed to the team’s success in the league as the run-flow has dipped after the dismissal of their top-order batters.
We Have Certainly Thought About Our Strategies – Sanjay Bangar On Stopping Dangerous Russell
Sanjay Bangar revealed they have worked on a few strategies for stopping hard-hitting all-rounder Andre Russell in the small Chinnaswamy Stadium. Earlier in the tournament, Russell was dismissed for a golden duck in the iconic Eden Gardens.
“Russell has been playing for KKR for several years now and we as a team, have been bowling to him in a particular way. At times he has succeeded, at times we have, that is the nature of the game. We have certainly thought about our strategies,” Sanjay Bangar added.
Royal Challengers Bangalore will look to continue their winning run against two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders to make a way for top-4 in the points table.
