The Indian Premier League (IPL) since its inception in 2008 is embraced by the passionate Indian cricket fans. The franchise-based league was planned after a rebel tournament Indian Cricket League started threatening the popularity of cricket in India. BCCI launched the IPL to bring back the fans of Indian cricket.

The T20 cricket which was new in the cricket sphere caught the imagination of cricket frenzy country. With India lifted the first World T20 cup the nation was eager to embrace something new. The eight-team tournament started around the mega cities of India. From the very first edition, the followers of these teams   increased rapidly.

Eight years have the past, with many happening on and off the field IPL is now the richest franchise-based cricket league in the world. And its teams are massively followed by fans.
