It was the second game of the super Sunday between Sunrisers Hyderabad Vs. Kolkata Knight Riders. The match had got huge importance for both the teams and in the end, its KKR, who turned to be happier of the two teams. To present things in the most interactive manner, here is a list of the HITS and FLOPS of the game, i.e. the players who valued the most for the result of the game.
FLOPS of the Match
Morne Morkel(KKR): The speedster from KKR, who took 9 wickets for KKR this season, didn’t manage to bowl well tonight. He gave away plenty of runs and was struggling with his length. He could not find any advantage against Warner and Dhawan and they thrashed him for boundaries. He gave away 39 runs in his 4 overs and went wicketless.
Aaron Finch(SRH): It was for yet another time that Aaron Finch could not score high. He was looking completely out of touch today. He edged a ball of Umesh Yadav and it was caught well by Morne Morkel in the third man region. He managed to score just 8 runs off 8 deliveries.
Amit Mishra(SRH): One of the biggest strengths for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in Pepsi IPL 7 has turned to be one of their biggest weaknesses this year. He went for plenty today. He gave away 15 runs in a crucial over in the match. He had given 38 runs in his 4 overs and went wicketless.
Bhuvaneshwar Kumar(SRH): It was just not the day meant for the purple cap holder. He started well in the initial overs and gave 10 runs in his first 2 overs. But when he was brought to bowl the crucial 18th over, he went for 15 runs. He bowled the last over of the innings and failed to defend 10 runs.
HITS of the Match
Umesh Yadav(KKR): The Indian pacer bowled with consistent line and length tonight and got the price of it. He had 5 wickets under his belt prior to today’s match. He dismissed the dangerous opener Aaron Finch right in the very first over he bowled. He also took the wicket of David Warner, who was looking to destroy the KKR bowling. He took 3 wickets in his 4 overs and gave away only 26 runs, which was indeed economical and was adjourned the Man of the Match.
Robin Uthappa(KKR): For once again, Robin Uthappa did set the pillar for the KKR batting. He scored 40 runs off 33 deliveries with 5 fours and a six. He built a strong partnership with Manish Pandey which later proved to be the match winner.
Dale Steyn(SRH): The STEYN GUN was the sole warrior for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. He did set the stage for SRH by dismissing Gautam Gambhir early but others failed to capitalize. He also bowled the 19th over and gave just 6 runs. He gave 24 runs in his 4 overs and took a wicket.
Yusuf Pathan(KKR): The big hitter of KKR seems to be back in form. He stayed at the crease when his side needed him the most and won the match for KKR. He did hit some glorious strokes at the deck to keep the required run rate well under reach. He remained unbeaten on 39 runs off 28 deliveries with 2 fours and 2 sixes.
