KKR’s premier spinner Sunil Narine underwent a fresh testing process on his bowling action on April 2nd at an ICC-accredited centre, in Chennai . This means that KKR were forced to accept the BCCI decree which stated that Narine had to undergo the test despite having got a clearance by the ICC after a bio-mechanical test in Loughborough.

The reports of the test are likely to be out on April 6th and then only BCCI’s sub-committee will take a final call on whether Narine would be available to play in IPL 8 or not.

It is understood that Narine appeared for the test in front of the BCCI’s sub-committee which deals with suspect bowling actions. Former India fast bowler Javagal Srinath is head of the three-man panel which comprises former India captain S Venkataraghavan and ex-international umpire AV Jayaprakash.

Srinath’s panel observed Narine in real time and also put him through various test. As expected, the panel did not study the results from the Loughborough centre.

Earlier, Knight Riders had lodged a protest with BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya questioning the importance of a separate test when Narine had got himself cleared from an ICC-accredited testing centre in Loughborough. But Dalmiya told the team management that he was helpless and instead of giving an explanation, he suggested it would only benefit the franchise if Narine appears for a retest.

KKR would seriously hope that Narine’s clears the test as he still remains their most valuable player whose four overs can rip apart any opposition in no time.
