Here is the preview of the second match of IPL 8 between CSK vs DD:

A quality that defines Chennai Super Kings in Indian Premier League is consistency. Two time winners, three-time finalists and the only team to make it to the play-offs in all seasons. They have squeezed out almost every resource available across the seven years of IPL and the same will be expected out of them this season too.

On the other hand, Delhi Daredevils’s inability to create and hold onto a core of players was exposed in the last two seasons and this year, it will be a big challenge for them to make a team that falls into place.

Head to Head in IPL:

The Head to Head record between both these teams in IPL has been dominated by Chennai Super Kings, who have managed to secure a victory 10 times out of the 14 games played between the two.

Pitch and Weather Report:

The pitch at Chepauk is traditionally on the slower side and good for batting, with assistance for spinners. As far as the weather conditions are concerned, there are no chances of rain and we can expect to see a full game of cricket.

Team News:

Chennai Super Kings, the most consistent team of Indian Premier League led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, will look for a blistering start at MA Chidambaram Stadium against the new look Delhi Daredevils. They have a good mixture of senior and junior players and the addition of South Africa’s Kyle Abbott and New Zealand’s rising speedster Matt Henry has brought that extra spark in the squad. Irfan Pathan, who is eyeing a comeback in the Indian team, will look to make the most of this season and get a call-up for the Bangladesh tour, that takes place shortly after the end of the IPL.

Chennai Super Kings’ Probable Playing XI:

Dwayne Smith, Brendon McCullum, Suresh Raina, Faf du Plessis, MS Dhoni (c & wk), Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, Mohit Sharma, Ashish Nehra, ISwar Pandey.

Just like last time, Delhi Daredevils have a fair amount of pedigree in their squad this season too,but the key issue for the management will be how quickly they identify their best XI. The middle-order looks quite potent with Yuvraj Singh and Angelo Mathews arriving to support newly appointed skipper JP Duminy and Kedhar Jadhav, two of their biggest successes last season. There is more bowling depth this time around, with experienced Zaheer Khan and Amit Sharma joining the likes of Nathan Coulter-Nile, Imran Tahir and Mohammad Shami.

A little more consistency and fluency from this squad can help Daredevils avoid the sort of fate they suffered last year.

Delhi Daredevils’ Probable Playing XI:

Mayank Aggarwal, CM Gautam, Shreyas Iyer, JP Duminy (c), Yuvraj Singh, Albie Morkel, Kedhar Jadhav, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Amit Mishra, Joseph, Imran Tahir
