Aakash Chopra, cricketer-turned commentator and YouTuber, has ranked the IPL team’s on the bases of the best finishers in their squad ahead of the IPL 2020 scheduled to begin from 19th September. Mumbai Indians is on No.1 while Chennai Super Kings is at the last in his ranking.
In his YouTube Channel, Akash Chopra explained the reason behind his ranking of the team. For placing MI at the top position, he reasoned that they have the ‘lord of T20 cricket’ Kieron Pollard in their team. He is impressed with Pollard’s CPL’s stats and has concluded that he will do well in the UAE.
“At the top spot, I will keep the Mumbai Indians. They have Kieron Pollard, who is the lord of T20 cricket, what sort of batting he is doing in CPL! He scored 72 runs in 28 balls and is scoring consistently. He plays spin well and will do well in the UAE, there is no doubt about that,” Aakash Chopra said.
Aakash Chopra has placed Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at No.2 in his list. He opined that the power-hitting batting of Andre Russell and Eoin Morgan along with Dinesh Karthik will form a great combination in the squad.
“At No.2, I have got KKR. They have Andre Russell, who gives them the muscle. Although he is good enough alone, they also have Eoin Morgan, who is in great form and Dinesh Karthik,” Aakash Chopra added.

Delhi Capitals, with young captain Shreyas Iyer, has got the No.4 position in Chopra’s ranking. The former cricketer believes that youngsters Rishabh Pant and Shimron Hetmyer will be key for them in the much-awaited tournament.
“After that, I have Delhi Capitals. They have a lot of options but more in the overseas contingent. They have Rishabh Pant, who is likely to bat at No.4. Along with him, another left-hander Shimron Hetmyer is expected to bat, who is doing well in the CPL.”
At last, Aakash Chopra has kept Chennai Super Kings, who has one of the finest finisher-MS Dhoni. He believes that the wicketkeeper-batsman is the one-man army but he has not great finishers in the team.
“Last but not the least, I am going with Chennai Super Kings because they have MS Dhoni. He is like a one-man army, although he does not have great finishers along with him,” Aakash Chopra concluded.
Meanwhile, the IPL 2020 schedule is expected to be announced on Sunday.
