IPL 2018: 30th Match, Chennai Super Kings vs Delhi Daredevils – Match Preview

Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) recently scripted a historic comeback to the domestic professional Twenty20 league. The yellow brigade will square off against a rejuvenated Delhi Daredevils (DD) side in the 30th game of the season at the Maharastra Cricket Association Stadium (MCA) in Pune on Monday (April 30).

While Delhi will fight for their survival, the Super Kings will be desperate to come back to winning ways. They suffered a thumping loss to Mumbai Indians by eight wickets in the previous game.

The Daredevils, who were struggling with Gautam Gambhir at the helm, found the elusive winning formula in their previous game. They comprehensively defeated formidable Kolkata Knight Riders at home under the dynamic leadership of Shreyas Iyer.

Moreover, Delhi is currently languishing in the points table with two wins from seven games.

However, Chennai is still leading the points table alongside table-topper Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), but their confidence suffered a blow after the last defeat.

Meanwhile, still, it will be an uphill task for the visitors who will bank on their new skipper Iyer. Besides Iyer, other batsmen like opener Prithvi Shaw, Rishab Pant, Glenn Maxwell and Colin Munro need to contribute.

For CSK, their batting has done the job for them in most of the occasions. The openers have been in stunning form while Mahendra Singh Dhoni‘s form will be icing on the cake.

However, they have suffered due to their bowlers, who have leaked runs. They need to regroup themselves and come back stronger against Delhi.

To make things worse for them, Deepak Chahar suffered a hamstring injury in the last game.

Moreover, he will be out of action for two weeks. On the spin front, Harbhajan Singh and Imran Tahir will be crucial to choke up runs in the middle overs for Chennai Super Kings.
