The Cauvery water protests from the Tamil Nadu has resulted in the prevention of Indian Premier League (IPL) matches. The home matches of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has been shifted from their base Chennai.
Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh Cricket Association (APCA) has expressed their interest in hosting matches in Vishakapatnam.
“I met IPL chairman Rajiv Shukla a month ago and asked him to consider holding some matches in Vizag. During that time, the Cauvery controversy was not there,” General Secretary of Andhra Cricket Association Ch Arun Kumar was quoted as saying by the Mirror.
However, it has been informed by the ACC that the Tamil Nadu government would do every possible thing to host the matches in Chennai.
“Today, I tried calling him to convey our readiness to host the matches in Vizag, if they won’t take place in Chennai. But, his mobile is switched off. I hope to reach him soon,” he added.
They will make sure that all precautions are taken. Arun said that it will take about a week for Vizag – to make the pitch ready if CSK shifts their home matches there.
“We are more than willing to hold the matches here and we will be very happy if Vizag is chosen”, he said.
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu’s AIADMK was protesting in the Lok Sabha Of the Cauvery issue almost every day.
The Andhra MP’s started raising a no-confidence motion against the Narendra Modi government.
Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu met the leaders of AIADMK. They had sought the cooperation to don’t allow to not follow the No Trust Motion for discussion.
